1HOPE ANNUAL BLANKET DRIVE 2010
Winter is almost in South Africa. This year we will once again be collecting blankets for refugees and orphans. We are adding one more option to our blanket drive this year…Many internationally love to participate in this project but so much money is spent on shipping… so this year we are offering the option of donating $30 (200rand) and we can purchase a blanket for you and the funds that would have been used for shipping can go towards something more permanent – a Baby Home.
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Buy a “Muphamuzi Blanket” and help give an abandoned baby a home.
Muphamuzi Blanket - $30 (200rand) The blanket will go directly to an orphan or refugee child. Winter is fast approaching in South Africa and winter brings cool days and very cold nights (even below freezing). Many of these vulnerable children will sleep with little way to keep warm. By purchasing a “Muphamuzi Blanket” you can help keep a child warm this winter…and help 1Hope open our first Baby House…which will keep many babies warm, safe and loved…and placed into loving families. Please pray with us for these tiny dear eternal souls!!!
1Hope Team has been praying for a home – a Baby House, where we can house abandoned babies in a safe and loving environment until they can be placed into a forever family.
If you would like to purchase a “Muphamuzi Blanket” you may do so through our donation link set up on the 1hope website. See link below. Be sure to designate your donation to “1Hope Muphamuzi Blanket”.

1HOPE ANNUAL BLANKET DRIVE 2009
Our Blanket and PJ Project for 2009 was a huge success!! Thank you and God bless to all who took part. We collected over 150 blanket/pj packs and over 100 blankets. The children in Stinkwater and Sunnyside were all very excited to receive a new blanket with warm jammies. One of the teenage orphan boys brought a smile to my face as I watched him try to act all cool, as if getting this blanket/pj gift was no big deal – yet he quickly unwrapped his blanket and tried on his hooded sweatshirt that he received for jammies. I have seen several blankets in use since distributing them as many will use them almost as jackets here in the winter – bringing them to church and school to stay warm in the cold buildings with no heat. I had one teenage refugee orphan ask if he could talk to me – he told me “I don’t have a blanket, could you help me?” I gave him a nice warm blanket and 2 weeks later we found that he was sharing this blanket with another two refugees, so after Josh spent the evening playing soccer with them he sent them home, each with their very own blanket. While in Stinkwater handing out the blankets to the children, an elderly gentleman came up to me smiling so big and he asked “did you bring one for me?” I told him I would be back the following week and that I had one just for him. The following Saturday he found me with the children and called across the yard, “did you bring me my blanket ma?” I will never forget that toothless smile as I handed him a large, thick blanket!! I found it such a blessing that, as needs were brought to my attention, we had the resources to provide, thanks to the donations from people at Grace Fellowship Church here in Pretoria, SA, and from many others in America who sent their donations to Tamee to ship across the Atlantic ocean. THANK YOU TO ALL!!!!

Special Thanks
A huge thank you to Zonic Baby who took a trip to Stinkwater to visit some of the younger orphans that our friend Suzanne cares for. Suzanne took us to these children’s homes where Zonic Baby donated pack-n-play baby beds to these little ones. Much joy came from the children as they have never seen a bed like this before and much excitement was also shown from the ladies that care for them – not to mention a teary thank you from Suzanne. We are thankful for your generosity and your enthusiasm in seeing the needs around you and jumping in so quickly to help – you brought many smiles to Stinkwater. May God continue to bless you Charles as you continue to bring hope with the resources God has given you and we pray that many others will be spurred on because of your example. Also a special thank you Wic – the photographer and story teller who accompanied Charles on this project. Visit them at www.zonicbaby.com
We would like to thank “THE PANTRY” who so very graciously bakes close to 200 rolls every weekend for us to take to the orphans in Stinkwater. It is not just great to bring them food but to see how very very excited they are to have fresh baked bread!!! God Bless You Ben and Family!!!!
